!9#: Make Delicious Cakes From a Mix - Easy Fruit Cocktail Confetti, Chocolate Chip and Tasty Coffee
Homemade cakes are always special and a great way to show family and friends how much you care. Here are some "different" recipes to help you make some very special cakes that will be different. Choices are an Easy Fruit Cocktail Confetti Cake that starts with a boxed lemon cake mix, the Chocolate Chip Cake also uses a boxed mix, this time the mix is Devil's Food.
EASY FRUIT COCKTAIL CONFETTI CAKE
1 box lemon cake mix
3 eggs
1 can (17-oz) fruit cocktail
Preheat 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a 10-inch tube pan; set aside.
In a large mixer bowl, combine cake mix, undrained fruit cocktail, and the eggs; beat as the cake mix package directs. Turn the batter into the prepared tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until cake is done. Cool for 20 minutes on a wire rack. Remove from pan to the wire rack and completely cool. Frost with your favorite frosting.
EASY CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE
1 reg size pkg Devil's Food cake mix
1/4 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups water
1 pkg (4-serving size) instant chocolate pudding
1 pkg (6-oz) chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour the canola oil into a 13 X 9-inch pan. Tilt pan until the bottom is covered with the oil. Put the rest of the ingredients into the pan and stir with a fork until blended, about two minutes. Scrape sides and spread the batter evenly in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Sprinkle the cooled cake with powdered sugar. Run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen cake and serve directly from the pan.
TEXAS COFFEE FLAVORED CAKE AND ICING
1 box yellow cake mix
1/4 cup brewed coffee
1 tsp vanilla
Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions, using coffee as a replacement for part of the liquid. Add the vanilla. Bake cake according to the package directions. Cool completely and ice with the following icing.
Icing:
3 tbsp butter
1 square (1-oz) unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 lb powdered sugar
brewed coffee
1 tsp vanilla
Brown the butter in a saucepan; add the chocolate and stir until completely melted. Pour chocolate mixture over the powdered sugar and mix, adding enough brewed coffee until of spreading consistency. Stir in the vanilla. Use to ice the above cake.
